Mitt
Romney focused on what he called the failed foreign policy of President Barack
Obama while speaking at VMI on Monday.
Romney said that President Obama has
failed to use his office to boost freedom in the world. Romney said the U. S.
can’t support its friends and defeat its enemies in the Middle East when words
are not backed up by deeds and when the nation’s defense spending is being
arbitrarily cut. Romney said the U. S. should use trade policies as leverage in
Egypt and should increase its support of opposition forces in Syria.
Romney
said if he’s elected president, he will send a message to the world that is
clear on American values. Romney said the recent violence in Libya was
indicative of a larger struggle playing out across the Middle East.
Romney also made a stop Monday at Fairfield Elementary. Romney joined Governor
Bob McDonnell to greet teachers and students from the school as Romney’s
motorcade made its way out of the Rockbridge area.
