Gas Prices Remain High


AAA officials say the national average price of gasoline has broken daily record highs every day for six straight weeks.
At last report, a gallon of regular cost $3.78 on the average in the U. S. and $3.62 in Virginia.
AAA officials say they expect gas prices will continue to break daily records through at least the end of the year.
The average price for gas in Virginia for the month of September was $3.69, the most expensive ever for the month and 14 cents higher than the average in August.
In Virginia, gas prices in 2012 are on track to be the most expensive ever. The average price of gas so far in 2012 is $3.55 a gallon, which compares to the existing annual-average high of $3.48 from 2008.
