A graduate of Longwood University has donated $4 million to
the school.
The money will be used to help pay for construction of a
new student center.
The donation from Elsie Stossel Upchurch is the largest
capital gift in Longwood's history.
The Longwood's Board of Visitors voted last week to name
the new University Center in honor of Upchurch and her late husband.
The University Center will cost an estimated $30 million.
Construction is expected to begin in late 2014 or early 2015.
