Secretary of State Hillary Clinton received the Distinguished Diplomat Award
from VMI on Tuesday.
Clinton
spoke in Cameron Hall and she was honored to receive the award. She said the United States
must continue to stress both diplomacy and a strong defense in responding to
ongoing affairs around the world.
Clinton was
sworn in as the 67th secretary of state on Jan. 21, 2009, after nearly four
decades in public service as an advocate, attorney, first lady and senator.
