A tractor-trailer accident Sunday tied up northbound traffic
for several hours on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County.
The accident took place Sunday morning around 3 o’clock near
mile marker 196 as a tractor-trailer driver ran his vehicle into the guardrail
just south of the bridge over Mount
Atlas Road. The tractor-trailer driver was not
injured.
Traffic was detoured for several hours onto Route 11. All lanes reopened to
traffic around noon on Sunday.
