Wheeler Allegedly Tied to International Ring

Federal authorities Wednesday provided more details about an
international child pornography ring as they discussed the U.S.
prosecution of an international criminal network organized to sexually
exploit children.

The case involves a private online bulletin board called Dreamboard
that had more than 70 members, including allegedly former Parry
McCluer head football coach Matt Wheeler, who has been charged in the
case.

Wheeler was jailed without bond and is awaiting transfer to Lafayette,
La., where the case will be prosecuted.

At a recent court hearing in Roanoke, a federal agent testified
that Wheeler had posted more than 75 images to the pornographic bulletin
board over a two year period.

In all, 72 people in the United States and overseas have been indicted in connection with the ring. Federal officials say material found on the bulletin board site involved children 12 and under, including some infants.
