Virginia Tech issued an alert Thursday morning after there were reports about a man seen with a gun near the Dietrick Dining Hall. Virginia Tech sounded its emergency siren and some buildings were locked down.
Law enforcement officials searched for the suspect but could not find any gunman. The reports of a man with a gun came from three youths, who reported seeing the man outside a residence hall.
