Obama's Ratings Slip

More Virginia voters disapprove of President Barack Obama than approve of him, that’s according to a new Public Policy Polling survey, which shows Obama's approval rating is at 47 percent, one point behind his 48 percent disapproval rating.
That's a significant drop from May, shortly after Osama bin Laden was killed by Navy SEALs, when Obama's approval in Virginia was at 51 percent and disapproval at 44 percent.
Still, Obama leads all of his top potential Republican opponents for 2012 in Virginia, though Obama's four-point lead over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (47-43) is within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry trails Obama by nine points as does U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, while Obama leads businessman Herman Cain by 11 points and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin by 14 points.
