VMI is attempting to track down computers that were sold recently
at surplus auctions, since the computers may contain personal information.
The computers were sold at auctions October 5 and on
October 26.
VMI officials say the hard drives of about 50 computers
were not erased but they’re not sure if data remains on the drive. VMI is
checking with the new owners of those computers.
VMI officials say they’re checking to see why correct procedures
weren't followed in disposing of the computers.
