Election Day Battles



It’s Election Day and polls are open until 7 p.m.
Statewide, voters will be electing a new governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general.
In Rockbridge County, voters will elect two supervisors, as Rusty Ford, Chris Green and Ben Swisher battle for the seat from Kerrs Creek and Buster Lewis and Rich Kopp vie for the seat from Walkers Creek. There are also two candidates for the Rockbridge County School Board seat from South River, Kevin Brooks and Jason Harris and two candidates for the school board seat from Kerrs Creek, Tony McFaddin and Laurie Strong.
In the town of Glasgow, Ruby Clark and Monica Dock are running for mayor while Andrea Bradley, John Hill, Jeremy Kilgore and Curtis Preston are running for seats on the Glasgow Town Council.
In the city of Buena Vista, Frankie Hogan is unopposed for mayor. Lewis Plogger, Melvin Henson and Larry Tolley are city council candidates and Roy Mohler, Steve Webb, Bill Fitzgerald and Johnny Rice are candidates for Buena Vista School Board.
