Republican Ken Cuccinelli and Democrat Terry McAuliffe took turns Thursday in their final debate at Virginia Tech taking shots at the other candidate for governor.
McAuliffe said his position on women’s rights issues had powered his recent surge in the polls.
Cuccinelli criticized McAuliffe’s stance on energy. Cuccinelli said the war on coal hurts Southwest Virginia.
Meanwhile, voters eligible to vote absentee can cast ballots in person the next two Saturdays.
The Virginia State Board of Elections says offices of the
general registrars will be open for eight hours those two days.
